Seeing into the future is a special gift. This article is about prophecy or predicting the future. Normally this subject topic will not be discussed openly but lately it has taken my interest again with so many unwarranted catastrophic events that is happening around the world and even in our own country. I got my first Notradamus book back in the 90's after some persuasion from a friend. Somehow I didn't pay much attention to Nostradamus or any prophecies until lately.
As a human being, we cannot outlive our limited lifespan. But we can logically feel what it is like to be in the future if any of those events hold truth as per the prediction by Baba Vanga or Nostradamus. By injecting some logic and common sense into their predictions, perhaps we can further explicate how the future will hold for mankind (see treatise below). I am not an astronomer nor a psychic who can make prediction just to make myself clear to readers.
Treatise of Predictions
Below here were Baba Vanga's chilling predictions before her death in 1996. Some did happened already. I've further added my own written comments or interpretations (pink color sentences) in accordance with logic to try to make sense on each of the predictions.
1980: The sinking of Russian nuclear submarine the Kursk in 2000
1989: 9/11 Prediction Attack. She predicted terrorist attack on New York
2023: The Earth’s orbit will change. When orbit changes, it means climate will also change. Countries that used to be hold becomes colder and vice versa. Food growing will need adjustment due to these climate changes. This climate change will also encourage people to use solar energy as an alternative.
2025: The population of Europe will reach almost zero. This catastrophe may already started initiating gradually even before 2016 toward this prophecy by France and Brussels coming under jihadist attacks by religious extremists. The deadliest weapon that could wipe out almost entire population is nuclear attacks and hopefully this frightening prophecy could be reversed.
2028: Mankind will fly to Venus, in hope of finding new sources of energy. NASA, China, Russia, and other Richard Branson's like-minded entrepreneurs may be on this space exploration race already.
2033: World water levels will rise as the polar ice caps melt (this is already happening). Since the 1950s scientists have already started warning about global warming and ice melting in the North Pole. This prophecy is already happening in Bangkok city where it's descending by about 1 centimeter each year. The year 2033 will make it even more drastic and can be felt at more geo-loactions on planet earth.
2043: Europe’s transformation into an Islamic caliphate is complete. Rome is named the capital. The world’s economy thrives under Muslim rule. A scary event and this catastrophic religious war is unavoidable. This strong volition to impose Islamic rule in Catholic Rome is in accordance to the law of Karma. A volition that was formed many centuries ago with the aim to reach its goal and often with bloodshed. We can witness the consequence of this volition and the working of its Karmic force lately in France and Brussels, and the huge influx of Muslim immigrants into Western Europe including England and Germany. How are you going to stop this prophecy from happening? The gun had been triggered and bullet is on its way to the target. Unless there's a way to go back in time to change this volition from whoever initiated it.
2066: America will use a new climate change weapon for the first time in a bid to retake Rome and bring back Christianity. If this prophecy is true, that means the Muslim rule over Europe cities is short-lived. Forcing people to accept a religious faith or belief system is never a good idea. Modern management thinking have also taught about leadership and respect is earned. Not the other way round by sheer forcing others. Always remember happiness doesn't arise from forcing people to love you. This prophecy will also imply that after Nuclear weapon, the next deadly weapon is a climate control change weapon system that can be either produce extremely freezing or hot temperature on a target. If this weapon were to be invented and be used, its effect on earth can be associated with drought or extreme darkness if it's abused under the wrong hands.
2076: Communism will return to Europe and the rest of the world. Between 2066 and 2076 just 10 years apart should Communism returns, it means people need a governing system that has no religion at its central command. In other words, it's a 'win-win' situation in Europe to resolve this conflict by the return of Communism.
2100: Man-made sun illuminates the dark side of the planet (This is already in the pipeline since
scientists have been working on creating an artificial sun using nuclear fusion technology)
2111 – Humans will turn into live robots, cyborgs.
2123 – There will be a war between the small countries of the world, and the big forces will intervene to end the war. This conflict is possibly due to territorial disputes as land is getting smaller and food resources is scarce. In my opinion sea water had risen to an alarming level causing land shortages and ultimately food shortages. When people in these small countries are hungry, they will not hesitate to fight or pilferage their neighboring countries.
2130: With the help of the aliens, civilizations will live underwater. This is an interesting aspect of Baba Vanga's prediction. In her words, there're already many aliens living on earth for many years. With water rising due to climate change, gradually the land on planet earth will be covered by the ever rising sea water.
As of today we know that 70% of our planet earth is covered by sea water. If you have experienced scuba diving before, you will understand the beauty and calm nature of sea below. When this day come, the more practical approach is to live underwater because the human race may not reach the advance science level yet to begin mass migration to a new planet at another solar system. At least not another 1,667 years later in the year 3797 (see below).
However, there's a slight advancement of the human race in the next 150 years from now to inhibit Mars in small civilization by 2183 (see below).
2164 – Scientists will find a way to turn animals into humans. Cloning technology at an advanced level that could bring benefit or destructive to mankind. The application of this future technology is uncertain yet but will surely materialize.
2170: Major global drought. Many people will die and temporary halt the human population. Before this event, some scientists may have already found a way to live and sustain longer in Mars or any other planet in the solar system.
2183 – A human colony on Mars will become a nuclear force, and will seek independence from the Earth. The pioneer men and women must have originated from a rich nation on earth whom sponsored this space program to start a brave new colony on Mars. That nation would be any of the country we know today that has space programs. Could be the US, Russia, China, or India (or Israel as a surprise to our guess)?
2195 – People living under water will become independent from the land people. They will no longer need supplies and energy from the land. Human can adapt for survival. Thanks to aliens help. Eating new sources of food grown on the seabed or harvesting nutrients from the sea is a totally new way of life for those who chose to live underwater.
2201: Temperatures drop as the sun’s thermonuclear processes slows down. This will promote the development of artificial temperature control system that leads to weapon systems as well. Heat is the source of power for any world leaders in this era.
2262: Planets will slowly change orbits. Mars will be threatened by a comet. Two things may happen for the human colony inhibiting Mars. Firstly, they could try to search another planet to live with the knowledge and technology that they already have. Secondly, migrate back to earth temporarily which is an easy option. But these Martians may be rejected by the earth people.
2354: An accident on the artificial sun will result in more drought. Much like the Cherobyl and Fukushima nuclear plant accidents.
2480: Two artificial suns will collide and leave the Earth in the dark. This could be a direct result of man-made climate weapons from two different opponents fighting and trigger this event.
3005: A war on Mars will change the trajectory of the planet. Could this mean the human population in Mars had begun war with each other?
3010: A comet will hit the moon. The Earth will be surrounded by a ring of rock and ash.
3797: By this time, everything on Earth will die. However, human civilization will be advanced enough to move to a new star system.
3803: A new planet is populated by little. Fewer contacts between people. Climate at new planet affects the organisms of people - they mutate.
3854: The development of civilization virtually stops. People live flocks as beasts.
3871: New prophet tells people about moral values, religion.
4457: The end of Buddhism as per prediction by Lord Buddha Sakyamuni which will take place on this period of time 5,000 years after his final passing to Nibbana. The Buddha Sasana will end around here.
4509: Getting to Know God. The man has finally been reached such a level of development that can communicate with God.
4599: People achieve immortality.
*note: After human have achieved immortality, this point onward Maitreya Buddha will leave Tusita heaven and be born into this world. I don't have any clue about the exact year Maitreya will arrive on earth and perhaps Buddhist scholars will have the answer. Best guess at this moment is between 46th century onward and may even stretched beyond the 51st century (after 5079).
5076: A boundary universe. A knowledge that reveals the galaxy and universe. It's about going beyond that unknown boundary in search of a new home just like Christopher Columbus did when he discovered the new frontier. Human are explorers by nature.
5078: The decision to leave the boundaries of the universe. While about 40 percent of the population is against it.
Other common predictions made by Baba Vanga
“There won’t be a third world war, but if you continue polluting the nature like that, it will destroy us. Mother Nature is God, and it won’t tolerate our impact on it.”
“The world will not disappear soon – it will change. A time will come when borders will disappear and people will live together in peace and cooperation.”
“Until money rule the world, there won’t be any progress on Earth.”
“If you continue to treat Mother Nature like that, a day will come when different plants, vegetables, and animals will start to disappear…First it will be the onion, garlic, pepper, and bees. Milk will become poisonous. People will sow wheat, but rye will grow.”
“All of the gold will appear on the surface of the planet, but water will hide. Water will become more expensive than the black gold, and one day it will disappear. Those that are alive will eat and drink in golden utensils, but there won’t be water.”
“We all one by one will go to the other world, but planet Earth and humanity will remain. Our planet existed for billions of years, and will exist for many more before the apocalypse. Don’t be scared – be united and help each other. Whatever is written in stone cannot be changed. Sooner or later it happens.”
“We are not alone on this planet. An extraterrestrial intelligence exists, and humans will make contact one day. Hungarians will be the first to contact citizens from another planet. This will happen no sooner than 200 years from now.”
“Every nation has its star that recharges it with energy. But there are exceptions, some nations have a planet instead of a star…the new time will come and those nations will not be able to survive. In unusual for them atmosphere, they will choke. A nation that has a planet instead of a star will die out just like a candle dies out when there is a strong wind.”
“Our Bulgarian mountains and lakes are sacred – like those in India. Unfortunately our nation still does not realize that. A day will come when people from all over the world will visit those places to draw energy… The seven Rila lakes are a haven place – this is one of our connections with the cosmos. That is why Peter Deunov (Beinsa Douno) used to visit the lakes so often.”
“Where is hell? Here on Earth. This is the hell. Here are the life struggles, the sins, the failures and fall downs. You have been brought here to purge yourself, so you can go up where the light is. A time will come when people will dramatically change – I won’t be alive, but I know it will happen. We all have better, more peaceful, and happier times ahead of us.”
The theory about Anicca (impermanence), Dukka (suffering) and Anatta (non-self) is the basic tenet in Buddhism to lift the mind into inner peace when found.
The Arrival of Maitreya Buddha
Maitreya will be the fifth Buddha of the Bhadrakalpa, and his arrival will occur after the teachings of Gautama Buddha are no longer practiced (year 4457 onward). It has been predicted that the coming of Maitreya Buddha will be characterized by a number of physical events. The oceans are predicted to decrease in size allowing Maitreya Buddha to traverse earth freely. Maitreya Buddha will then reintroduce the true Dharma doctrine.
According to the Cakkavatti Sutta(The Wheel-turning Emperor, Digha Nikaya 26 of the Sutta Pitaka of the Pāli Canon), Maitreya Buddha will be born in a time when humans will live to an age of 80,000 years, in the city of Ketumatī (present Varanasi) in India, whose king will be the Cakkavattī Sankha.

When human have this immortal lifespan of 80,000 years, that would be in year 4599 (46th Century) onward till year 5079 or beyond. This time period we will be expecting Maitreya Buddha to descend down from the Tusita Heaven to turn the Wheel of Dharma for the immense benefits to all sentient living beings.
In today's contemporary sacred Buddhist mantra the 'NA MO BU DA YA' verse is the representation of the 5 Buddhas. They are Gaku Sandho Buddha, Gona Kamano Buddha, Kassapo Buddha, Sakyamuni Gotama Buddha (the present-epoch Buddha), and Sri Ariya Maitreiya Buddha (the future Buddha).
'NA' the 1st Buddha – Gaku Sandho Buddha
'MO' the 2nd Buddha – Gona Kamano Buddha
'BU' the 3rd Buddha - Kassapo Buddha
'DA' the present Buddha - Sakyamuni Gotama Buddha
'YA' the future Buddha - Sri Ariya Maitreya Buddha

In my own humble opinion, Maitreya Buddha will be at least another 5,000 more years after 4457 (the end of Sakyamuni Gautama Buddha's Dispensation). Sakyamuni Buddha's dispensation is supposed to last 10,000 years after his final Parinibbana. But because of the admittance of the Bhikkuni Order (Ordination of female Buddhist into the Sangha), this dispensation had been halved and shall end in 4457 as predicted by Sakyamuni Buddha. Theoretically speaking, Sakyamuni Buddha's teaching should end around 9457 and thereafter Maitreya Buddha will descend down to earth and turn the Wheel of Dharma. Hence, the arrival of Maitreya Buddha can also be after the year 10000 onward and this event will coincide with the very long lifespan of our human descendants at that time when they can live up to 80,000 years of age.
Just try to spend a quiet moment and try to imagine we are at 2016 this year. The long years ahead into the future perhaps (8, 9, or 10,000 years or even longer) before we can meet another Buddha again in our next life. As a practicing Buddhist, we can be at any of the Planes of Existence during Maitreya Buddha's time on earth in that future era. It's the best in our wish to be able to enter the Streams of Enlightenment now.
Next 100 Years on Earth
The next fifty years from now (2016) Buddhism knowledge and its alchemy in making amulets will gradually be forgotten. It won't happen overnight. It would be rare to find spiritual blessing ceremony to sanctify holy amulets like what we see today in Thailand.
Another fifty years upon reaching 2116 will be the era of cyborgs, electronic implants, flying robots, and an array of humanoid toys that will take a center stage. Your great, great, great grandchildren at that futuristic era will engage their attention into the cyborg world for survival reasons. Simply speaking they would need to find an alternative and safe place to live in order to overcome hunger, war and famine.
The year 2130 (114 years from now) is the beginning of our quest for an answer to prolong life as human species by living underwater together with marine creatures. The alchemy knowledge will further erode in those coming years while Buddhism knowledge will be replaced by tech knowledge because of materialistic race in the future.
With all those chaos taking place (85% accuracy predictions), do you think our future generations will have time to focus their mind in collecting and making amulets? What would happen to all your favorite amulets that you have in possession today? Not just amulets. A lot of things that we knew in this life or have used today (iPhones, tablets, Facebook, etc.) will be things of the past and be forgotten. This is the nature of all phenomenons that is subjected to arising and decay.
In other words, whatever we took from mother earth we must return it one day. That is the nature of all things that goes in a big recycle chain. A good example would be Amulets that we have today that are made from earth materials such as herbs, copper, silver, etc. There is a reason why we don't use the term I buy or I purchase these religious Buddhist amulets. We simply say renting or leasing which is more appropriate for these religious objects because we're merely borrowing its infused Dharma protective powers for our use temporarily.
Preserving our planet earth from further erosion is a daunting task just like preserving the Buddha's teachings. Whenever we can conduct good deeds by alleviating the suffering of another living being and to oneself, we are creating a positive harmony in practicing the Triple Gems.
Buddha's Prediction
Buddha’s teachings predicted about changes in the world. It is parallel with Nostradamus predictions. Taken from a book publication titled 16 Predictions of the Buddha by Phra Khru Palat Veeranon Veerananto, once upon a time at the Deer Park in Benares when Lord Sakyamuni Buddha was near passing away, he said to his disciple Ananda:
“Listen to me Ananda, all creatures that are born into this world have to suffer, no matter what nationality, religion, believe they are, everywhere, all over the world, they all have to go to an end.
My teaching will last 5,000 years after my death, when the world reach the half time of my teaching (2,500 years), half of all human and animals will face major catastrophes from all directions. Within 30 years, they will see things that they have never seen before, a stone giant that was cursed to sleep will wake up to create disturbances.
The devastated Nepal earthquake in 2015 could be one of the stone giant and many more to come? A video caption below claimed to be taken weeks before the giant Nepal earthquake struck.
In April 2016 alone two disastrous earthquakes rocked Japan and Ecuador. Earthquakes is becoming more frequent.
At the half time of my religion, there will be more dangers by day and night. People following other beliefs will kill one another; bloodshed will be everywhere, on land and in the seas. Dangers will also come from every direction of the sky. Fire will continuously to burn mankind; they will destroy each other like blood thirsty demons. Rage will come over land and sea. When half of mankind has been eradicated the battles will cease because each side will be exhausted.
For those that stay in virtue, their suffering will be less severe. Those that pay respect to the Bodhi tree and the robes (of Buddhist monks) the calamity will be minimized but still even they will be unable to escape nature.
From year B.E.2485 (in year 1942 World War 2) fire will spread to the east and burns temples. Monks, nuns, laymen and laywomen will suffer starvation, people will live in the jungles, and animals will come to town. Cities will be in turmoil because of selfish people. Fireballs from flaming skies (like bombs), metals will rise from seas (missiles).
The oceans will have strong turbulence, the crust of the earth will be affected, and Tsunamis will swallow millions of animal and human continuously for years. There will be 7 Tsunamis. The first Tsunami will hit Thailand and Indonesia, the second will hit Indonesia, and the third will hit the east region of Thailand. It will happen twice at every location and nearby areas.
This type of events occurred a thousand years ago and will happen again in the next century, due to global warming. People try to control nature and end up destroying it (example: the powerful countries in the world doing experiments with atomic bombs). Wars happens everywhere, constant battles, military will be superior in almost every country. Food will be short in supply, people will starve. Chaos will happen among classes and castes. Orders will reverse in many levels.
Once Buddhism passed through the year of the big snake, people will crawl instead of walking, in the year of small snake, the river banks will collapse, and land will submerge under the sea. In the year of chicken the earth will be dark for 7 days and 7 nights and heads for disaster. Scrupulous people will escape the catastrophe and develop Metta (Loving kindness) and Sila (Morality). They should recite the following chant every morning and evening :
"He ta she ra tan Mon ka lo un ka
Si la ka la sa Sa sa sa
Ti ho tat hi ho ku ha ka nae"
Recite this verse regularly, write it down on paper or white cloth and pin it to the front of the house or head of the bed or wrap it around your head to escape or avoid dangers and disasters.
Listen to me Ananda, I feel compassion with all living beings in this world that only live to the half time of the era when it crumbles. In the year of the dog after my religion declines, the moon will begin to emit rays to the earth. Then in the year of the rat or 30 years after, the unscrupulous, those who lack ethic principles and are devoid of morality will vanish from the face of the earth, because they do not believe in and disrespect the teachings. The unscrupulous will eventually be defeated, the Garuda will fly back to the skies; monks from the forests will return to the cities and preserve the teachings.
Morality will win. Religion will stay as national institution; people will be ethical and will not exploit one another. Everyone will return to a life with moral principles and they will live with contentment. A righteous man will be born as a prince with the heart of a Bodhisattva and under the guidance of a certain patriarch who is a Bodhisattva as well; they will nourish my teaching and make it bloom again.
This era is the "civilized" era; a certain patriarch will be born 2454 years after my death. 2467 to 2486 years after my death the righteous Bodhisattva will be born in the royal family. Both of them will reside on the east side of central India. Between the year of the dog and pig these two will completely reestablish Buddhism. 84,000 monks, nuns, laymen and laywomen will come.
Ananda, I feel compassion with all sentient beings. There is not much time left so living beings should not be heedless. Those who knew, should pass this knowledge on, otherwise they create unwholesome Kamma with all living beings. All will come to an end when time has come.
Life Is Beautiful
In every birth throughout the universe, all sentient living beings tries to find happiness, comfort, and attachment. We make believe that life is beautiful despite the circumstances we're facing. That's how the mind clings onto illusions. Let's stop dwelling into the future. Planet earth we're living, Mars, the galaxies and outer space is always changing and unpredictable. For now the simplest task is to understand that all mental factors arising from our senses through seeing, feeling, touching, tasting, hearing is impermanent. The sublime teaching of the Buddha above must be comprehended fully by oneself as a meditation practitioner.
May we be all free from harm and danger. May we gain happiness from learning the Dharma discourse in our lifetime. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
