Guman Thong "The Fortune Makers Talisman"

We are indebted to this article originated by Mr. Akarat Laoharattanawiboon of Nan village in Thailand. His works has been edited for clarity with all original contents being retained. With good intention we hope his ideas and knowledge about Guman Thong sacred talisman would provide an abundance of insightful knowledge to the general amulet collectors and worshippers.
Also special thanks to the generosity of forum members from Amulet Forums and private collectors for their contribution of photos to make this article a success for all readers to appreciate this super legendary talisman.

This is my first and only Lersi Guman talisman (origin Luang Phor Pern, Wat BangPhra) that was handed to me by a monk in Bangkok as gift.  I've given the name Lucky to this Guman Thep possessing 3 money bags and the reverse side featuring a Lersi.  Both in meditation posture in accordance to the Dharma teachings.  May the sharing of this legendary talisman with readers good merits can be accrued to Lucky.

The myth about some talismans is mysterious because they are believed to possess spirits which sometimes show themselves to people in the house or the neighbourhood. The said talismans are Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom which both could bring good luck to your business and add charm to their owners while providing protection in case of danger. Guman Thong has been a very popular talisman in the Thai society. Nowadays we can see the statues of Guman Thong placed in many stores because the storekeepers believe that he could help increase customers in their stores and he could also bring good luck to the owner.

The myth of GumanThong first appeared in the classic Thai literature, Khun Chang Khun Paen. Khun Paen the protagonist of the story discovered that Boa Klee, one of his wives planned to poison him. He therefore, murdered her and took the unborn foetus from his wife's womb and decided to turn his dead son into a GumanThong. Khun Paen burnt the dead foetus to make the body smaller, covered it with gold leaves, and wrapped him up with a sheet. Besides the legendary Fafeun sword and Si Mohk horse, Guman Thong was one of the occult science that Khun Paen tried to create all his life.

Guman Thong was very significant to Khun Paen personally because Guman Thong is also his son. In addition, Guman Thong was a baby spirit and could travel with Khun Paen everywhere unlike the other sacred elements possessed by Khun Paen. Guman Thong can be classified as a sacred talisman since Ayutthaya era and it still gained the same high respect to this day. Yet, we cannot create Guman Thong in the same way that Khun Paen did in the past because it is deemed illegal and immoral.

The Traditional Way of Creating Guman Thong That Ceased Nowadays

According to ancient arcane knowledge book, the boys who died in their mothers’ wombs on Saturday or Tuesday would be grilled until dry, then lacquered and covered with gold leaves. This is the way to make one of the best talismans in olden time. Later on, the ancient clergymen found that the traditional way of creating Guman Thong was complicated and probably illegal and immoral. They, therefore modified the process; made it less elaborate but still maintained its magical power by using special materials with mystical power in themselves such as salt lick, soil from graves, clay from caves, and bone ashes from corpses that died on Saturday and were cremated on Tuesday. The clergymen would recite an incantation over these materials to create the most powerful Guman Thong to protect and watch their houses, increase interest in trade, and add charm to the owners.

In the traditional way of making Guman Thong, the clergyman would bring the magic dagger with him and recite the incantation while he was delivering Guman Thong from his mother’s womb: “Sitti deacho sitti jittung maha pooto mason tanung”. When he was out, the clergyman would talk to him: “My boy, I love you and I want you to be my son. Come live with me, I will raise you up and you’ll be happy.” The clergyman would pretend that he was talking to Guman Thong and the boy also stood up and talked to him too as if he was alive. Then the clergyman would cut the umbilical cord.

Guman Thong’s body had to be grilled in the temple compound. The clergyman needed to cover the ceiling of the temple with a white sheet, set lacquered sticks on four directions, put a holy white string seven rounds, and put a cabalistic writing, Mongkul Praputtachao on the ceiling. A three-legged stand tripod and a beam to put the baby were made of wood from the trees called cassia nodosa. The boy’s body had to be grilled in this area. The clergyman would have to be careful not to burn the body and complete the ceremony before the sun rises and he had to recite the incantation: “Suwanno Piyagumaro mahapooto mahittigo suppatisasu wattigo suppakamaesu kowaro suppachananung hateuyya mahatecho pawattigo ratanataya nupawaena ratanataya tedsa taewanung ittipalaena gumaro jamahittigo,” which means: “Guman Thong, with your great power, you can travel to every place; into houses, into minds. You travel around with the power of the Triple Gems and mighty power of gods. You shall be great and powerful Guman Thong.” Then, the clergyman would put out the fire and again recite the incantation: “Katjihe mahapooto samasudso sataewago karohi pito wajamaena sumpunnaena pasittiya.” After that, the clergyman would lacquer all over the boy’s body.

After the ceremony, the clergyman would invite the baby by saying: “Guman Thong, now you are Guman Thong. From now on please stay with me. I will bring you up with happiness, toys, food, and sweets. If I have something for you to help, please do it for me too.” The clergymen who could create Guman Thong must be a genius and had to be a specialist in this field, if not they would inevitably be cursed and be destroyed by the black magic spells.

The Legend of Guman Thong - The Ferocious Killers

According to ancient arcane knowledge, there are two kinds of Guman Thong.  One is wild, ferocious and can destroy enemy, and the other is able to add charm and bring fortune. The first kind of Guman Thong is a ferocious type. This type of Guman Thong is consisted of four kinds namely Guman Thong Pretmun, Guman Thong Pretdub, Guman Thong Pretkong, and Guman Thong Pretsoon. They can be called "Pret Puti Ngan" or "Guman Pretprab". People use them only to destroy or murder their enemies.

According to ancient legend creating this kind of Guman Thong, the clergyman had to invite ghost who died in unnatural death or evil spirits to inhabit in the statue of Guman Thong. These four kinds of ferocious Guman Thong (Guman Thong Pretmun, Guman Thong Pretdub, Guman Thong Pretkong, and Guman Thong Pretsoon) have his own ways to destroy the enemy.

Guman Thong Pretsoon has the power to drive people crazy. Guman Thong Pretkong and Guman Thong Pretmun are very good in protecting property; they will kill strangers who invade the house. The only thing that can subdue Guman Thong Pretmun is Wou Tanoo, a kind of wood used in carrying a dead body. Yet Guman Thong Pretkong's power is much stronger than Guman Thong Pretmun because the former is able to conquest Wou Tanoo.  Moreover Guman Thong Pretkong is able to chase after the enemy everywhere but Guman Thong Pretmun can only exercise his power within his sphere. Perhaps the only weapon that can stop Guman Thong Pretkong is a copper Wou Tanoo or Kway Tanoo.

Guman Thong Pretkong therefore is an outstanding black spirit which you can hardly find anything to conquest him. Guman Thong Pretdub is a cold-blooded killer who can cut the enemy's throat as fast as a professional killer. Guman Thong the ferocious killers are still popular among people who believed in black magic occult. Therefore, this killer type is often obscure from the public knowledge and not known to the ordinary talisman collectors.

The type of Guman Thong that we can find in general is not the fierce type unlike the ferocious Guman Thong category. This kind of subtle Guman Thong can be termed as a valuable Guman Thong in bringing good luck, adding charms, increasing advantage in business, and most importantly does not cause harm to the owner. Another kind of Guman Thong that is specifically used to watch the house, store, and invite customers does not have any particular name. Generally the owner of Guman Thong will name his talisman himself such as Udomdat, Udomlap, and Udomchoke.

We can find many people worshiping this kind of good and subtle Guman Thong because they are not fierce and could add charm to its owner. In the past Guman Thong in this category created by Luang Phor Tae from Wat SamNgam are considered very powerful and good in this respect. Nowadays they are usually created by Luang Phor Yaem who is the direct disciple of Luang Phor Tae.

Guman Thong who could add charm cannot hurt anyone because their hearts are filled with Metta. They have their special power to protect the house, inviting customers, and bring good luck to the householder. They do not have any evil power to hurt or destroy others unlike the ferocious Guman Thong types. The clergymen merely create these good Guman Thong to encourage merchants who have good deeds and want something to hold to. Therefore, this kind of Guman Thong is the most popular talisman in these days.

Ruk-Yom: an Outstanding Talisman in Guman Thong's family

Besides Guman Thong who could add charm to his owner, Ruk-Yom is another talisman which can be classified under the same category with Guman Thong because Ruk-Yom possesses similar power. Some people worships both Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom because they believe the power of them could complement each other to bring about prosperity and wealth. The legend of Ruk-Yom is different from Guman Thong but both of them would appear in similar statue (usually a figure of a young boy). The story about Ruk-Yom can be first found in Tum Rub Pook Hoon Pra Lob. It said that there was a model of a boy created to be a playmate of Pra Lob, the son of Sida in Ramayana. After that the story about creating this figure became an influent example for the follower who wanted to create Ruk-Yom. Nowadays we can hardly find anyone who is skilled master in creating Ruk-Yom therefore it almost an extinct art form in Thailand. However, Kom Triwaj is widely accepted as a distinguished master who could create powerful Ruk-Yom.

The Methods of Creating Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom

Master Kom Triwaj is one who is skilled in creating Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom. He possessed a strong mind so that he can recite an incantation over Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom to make them powerful without inviting any evil spirit to inhibit inside the statue figurine. Only his mind concentration is enough to make powerful Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom. People who worship talismans made by Master Kom always experience good things e.g. they can find comfort in every place they go. This good miraculous experience made Master Kom's Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom famous among worshippers and collectors. The most important thing in creating a good Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom according to Master Kom is the wood element that is used for creating these talismans. He would use woods from withered Ruk Son tree and star gooseberry tree because it is an unusual thing in nature. These trees can bear fruits but most parts of the trees are decaying. In the past people believed that these trees possessed special power and if they were used in making Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom, they could help in empowering the talismans. Master Kom would start the process of creating Ruk-Yom by lighting joss sticks, reciting incantation and then he will begin to craft the small figure of young boys from the wood of Ruk Son and star gooseberry trees. Before doing this, he has to recite an incantation over a dagger which will be used in crafting the talismans. After that he will write a spell on the figures' forehead, both hands, chest, and both legs. Then he will bath his talismans in scented oil which he has already recited mantra incantation. Master Kom has to recite sacred spells until a pair of talismans float to the surface of the scented oil and that is be called "Ruk-Yom". Certain masters will put the small figure of young boys in tiny bottles and recite their incantation over them until they turn face to face.

In creating Guman Thong, the clergymen masters would only use one figure and they will recite spells over the figure until the masters have a vision of a boy coming to smile and greet them. Yet, some masters who have very strong arcane power will recite their incantation until they hear the voice of Guman Thong or see the figure of Guman Thong move. After that they will recite spells over him again and again to make them even more powerful.

Guman Thong are child spirits and as such are considered children.  All Guman Thong are male. Guman Thong  a little boy with a topknot, wearing Jongraben (a traditional cloth rolled between legs and brought up to the back), wearing a sash of gold ornaments or diamonds on the wrist or ankles. Female Gumans are called Guman Ree or Gumanree Thong.

Three Methods of Creating Three Kinds of Guman Spirits

There are three ways of creating Guman Thong.

1. Some masters create Guman Thong by using soils from seven graveyards combined with "Prai Guman Dust", which is soft dust of children's bone ashes. Guman Thong in this category will be fierce and is extremely powerful. He can inspire both good and bad things. The spirits inhibiting inside this Guman Thong usually comes from the graves or it might be a child spirit from bone ashes. This kind of Guman Thong requires good attention and worship. The spirits inside the statue of Guman Thong can also grow up like any ordinary children and they have feelings too.

2. Guman Thong can be created by using ordinary soils, sacred wood or metals by inviting the good spirits or Angels to inhibit inside the statue. Guman Thong of this type is also referred to as 'Guman Thep'.  Guman Thep does not always show off their power not like the first type made from Prai Guman Prai dust because the Angel spirits do not need ordinary food to grow up. The masters or creators will usually recite an incantation over this kind of Guman Thong with other well-known Guman talismans such as those from Luang Phor Poon of Wat PaiLom, Luang Phor Tim of Wat Lahanrai, Luang Phor Tae of Wat Sam Ngan.

3. Guman Thong can also be created by using wood from withered trees, especially, from withered Ruk son and star gooseberry trees, because people thinks that the withered wood is sacred in itself so there is no need to recite any incantation over. Using the withered wood, people believe will make Guman Thong sacred and powerful. The masters will put a spell on it to create a spirit inside the wooden statue. In conclusion, the live spirits inhibiting inside this kind of Guman Thong does not come from graves or heaven but they are created by the power of the masters' spell. This kind of spirits can be called "Prai". They will not grow up and always appear as children's spirits. The owners of this Guman Thong may or may not worship him with food because "Prai" in this Guman Thong will not know how to hurt anyone. Yet, if they ignore Kuman Tong completely, the power inside the statue will gradually disappear. On the other hand, if the owners take good care of their talismans, Guman Thong's power will increase and he can more effectively bring good lucks to the owners.

These three schools of taught in making Guman Thong had been explained thus far. The first type is from wandering spirits, the second from heaven, and the last comes from the power of the masters' spell. These three types of Guman Thong from each school of taught appeared differently in terms of characteristics. Guman Thong with the spirits from graves have the strongest power, while the second ones are sacred but do not always show off their power, and the third ones sometimes appear to people's eyes but do not have very strong power.

The Differences between Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom

Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom are considered as the same talismans in equal rights. They belonged to the same category but yet they have some differences. Both Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom are created as sacred statues of young boys. But Guman Thong in some schools of taught are created by using soils while Ruk-Yom are made from withered wood such as Ruk Son or star gooseberry trees only. Sometimes Guman Thong can also be made from this kind of wood. Ruk-Yom will always be created in pair as two small figures of young boys inside a tiny oil bottle whereas only one Guman Thong can be created inside the tiny oil bottle.

Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom also have the same kind of power and people will use them to watch over their property, persuade customers to come into the stores, add charms, bring good luck, and protect the owners from dangers. Generally masters would recite their incantation spells over Guman Thong to make him more powerful than Ruk-Yom because in the past Guman Thong were made to possess a very strong power that he could destroy the enemy. In these modern days Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom is used as a talisman to watch property and add charm to the owners. No matter what kind of Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom you possess, if you have faith you will experience only good things and miracles in your life.

Sacred Oil for Bathing Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom

Sometimes we find Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom “bathing” or submerged with oils inside tiny bottles. This is because the oil can preserve the wood crafted statues. People also believed that the oils will provide Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom a life force. If the oil evaporates, Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom will be tired and powerless. Besides the oil as a life force it also has a very special power to add charm to the owners. If we could learn to recite good incantation spells over it and carry Ruk-Yom bottle with us, it will be able to add us charm. The oils sandalwood oil or bulb plant oil that is used for bathing Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom should be well-recited could make them more powerful. Besides that some masters simmer a special kind of sacred bulb plant oil such as Sanae Jun Kaw bulb plant oil, Sanea Jun Keaw bulb plant oil, and Sanea Jun Dang bulb plant oil and then recite the incantation over it before bathing Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom. Some masters bring bulb plant flowers such as Dok Kaw bulb plant or Sanea bulb plant to add additional vitality in the bottle, or sometimes they use a tiny sacred Salika roll to bath Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom in the bottle to add more power and charming properties to the Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom.

The Methods to Worship Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom

Guman Thong is a sacred talisman with power in itself. We can worship Guman Thong by offering them cooked rice, boiled eggs, sweet drinks, candies, and toys. Besides that to make Guman Thong even more powerful, we can make a vow. For example, you should pray that if you win the lottery, you will offer your Guman Thong gold necklace or buy him toys, or feed him with sweets. This action will persuade Guman Thong to exercise his power. Yet, if you do not have time to do all these, you can only invite Guman Thong that he could go everywhere you go or eat anything in the house without asking for any permission.

If you worship Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom with food, you have to do these as your routine. You may offer them food on every Buddhist Days and you have to tell your Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom that you will bring them food on this or that way. Because they are sacred spirits and hold to the truth, you have to be punctual in offering them your worship or promise. You should offer them food in the mornings and take it away in the evenings. Other offerings such as rings or necklaces and toys can be given to him permanently by placing the gifts close to them.

You should be careful not to neglect offering Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom your worship. After all, they have feelings too like us human and they are children and need our attention too. If you are not convenient in giving affection to them you can tell them that: "You can go everywhere I go and eat everything I eat." This is because if you ignore your Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom, they will gradually ignore your orders and run away from you too. Moreover if the spirit inside the statue of Guman Thong comes from the grave type, he will bring destruction to his owner if he is being ignored or abandoned. He will become an evil spirit haunting his owner, driving you crazy, and you will no longer be happy. Therefore you should think carefully before taking Guman Thong or Ruk-Yom to live with you.  For Ruk-Yom you should set your offerings in pair such as two bottles of sweet drinks, two bowls of rice, two boiled eggs, and two toys, because there are two spirits inhibiting inside Ruk-Yom. If you think you cannot worship them often you should also tell them: "You can go everywhere I go and eat everything I eat." You could as well allow him to eat or touch anything in your house in the same way as Guman Thong that we have explained above.

Special Tips in Worshiping Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom

In worshiping Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom you should offer him with sweet drinks and boiled eggs because they will make Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom more powerful. The shelves where you let them reside must be lower than the shelf that you put the image of Buddha. Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom's shelves can also be set in your bedroom. If you want to take them with you, you should bring some food in your bag and tell your Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom that this food would be their prize if they help you in bringing good luck and miracle. If you do not have much time to worship Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom every day, you can put some money on their shelves and tell them that they could use this money to buy food or sweet. You should be careful not to use the money you have already given to Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom but you can distribute this money to make them merit, and they will be full without consuming anything. The most important thing is that the owners of Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom must practice virtue and if you practice meditation you should also share your merits after meditation with your Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom to make them more powerful.

Special Tips before Taking Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom into your House

If it is the first time that you bring Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom to reside in your home, you have to light up sixteen joss sticks and tell the other spirits in your house to make way for Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom to enter. If you have already had Guman Thong or Ruk-Yom in your house before, you have to tell them that you will bring their brothers to live with them too. After that, you have to light two joss sticks to tell Guman Thong his territory and introduce him to people in your family, and teach him to behave because he is not different from other young boys. For example if you are praying or meditating, you should invite him to do these with you. These will help Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom to be more powerful.

You have to raise Guman Thong up as if he was your younger brothers or children. You need to teach him and take good care of him and in return Guman Thong will love and help you in anyway possible. If you ignore him or treat him badly, Guman Thong will run away to live with his master. You can make him more powerful by worshipping him every day. And if you make a vow and pray for him, he would give you what you want. The most important thing is that you should not forget to make merits for him every time.

People in the past created Guman Thong because they thought that every child had charm in themselves as we could see when people saw a child they would always come to greet, smile, and play with him. When they made Guman Thong in a figure of a young boy, they believed that the power of charm inside Guman Thong would also add charm to his owner. The most significant part is that the owner of Guman Thong has to smile and clear his mind like a child; this will surely make him more charming.

Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom's Lucky Names

You need special tips in giving Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom a particular name such as Jook, as well as when we first bring them to your house. You can recite this incantation: "Namanungsamaso yuttato yuttata by the name of sacred monks, I will call you 'Jook'. Namungsuntungwiklungkarung." And then tell them that: "From now on I'll call you 'Jook'. Please remember this and when I call you by this name, come to me." You can call them with lucky names such as Prasittilap, or Prasittichoke. It should be beautiful names which are also easy to remember and to call too. When you take Guman Thong to live with you, please do not consider him as your play thing because he will gradually lose his power. If you have faith and keep worshiping good things, even miracle is possible.

How to Use Guman Thong

The owner of Guman Thong can use his special power by using his mind; he does not need to carry the statue of his Guman Thong that he is worshipping with him. What you need to do is that if you are leaving the house and you need your Guman Thong to go with you, you should tell him that: "Please follow me, I'm leaving the house." If you want him to protect you in case of danger, just tell him. And if your Guman Thong or Ruk-Yom is inside a bottle filled with sandalwood oil, you can make a prayer and mark the oil on your body to make you appear more attractive to the opposite sex. If you want your Guman Thong to watch your property or to accompany you everywhere, you have to tell him.

Some people say that they have worshiped and raised Guman Thong up for many years but they have never seen their Guman Thong in person. That makes them doubt in the power of Guman Thong. It is impossible that every owner of Guman Thong can see him in person because Guman Thong is a spirit and has a delicate wave of power and he lives in another world. Therefore, if you can see Guman Thong it means that you and your Guman Thong are fated to be together. Many people communicate with their Guman Thong through their dreams. The owners have to pray to Guman Thong everyday if they wish to communicate with him.

The most effective way to communicate with Guman Thong is through meditation, but this requires a lot of effort. People who practice meditation will modify the power of their minds to have the same mode with Guman Thong spirit and they can communicate with Guman Thong and also other spirits too. It is difficult to communicate with Guman Thong directly. People who could do this must have a powerful but delicate mind. Yet, it is not hard to use Guman Thong because he always wants to help us. The most important thing is that the owners must worship and treat him well. If they ignore their Guman Thong the spirit inside the statue will lose its power and run away. It is true that Khun Paen had a very powerful Guman Thong not because of the arcane magic induced into the talisman only. The most significant thing that Khun Paen did was treating his Guman Thong just like his own son. He did not consider Guman Thong as a talisman. Therefore we should treat Guman Thong as our child or our friend, and the power of Guman Thong will surely increase.

Below are amazing examples contributed by a private collector residing in New York on how Guman Thong are being taken care.

The Power of Guman Thong

The great masters have concluded that the power of Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom can come in 8 ways:

1. He can watch the house for his owners when they are away and warn them in case of danger.

2. He is a spirit which could help to solve difficulties in the owners' business.

3. He could help you get useful news and information in your business. In this point the owners must have strong mind in order to develop a kind of telepathy with Guman Thong. He could also whisper to the mind of his owner to warn him in case of danger. Sometimes Guman Thong comes to talk to you in your dream and sometimes through a medium.

4. He will protect you from danger, disaster, and evil spirits.

5. He could be a weapon used to destroy the enemy. Nowadays we can hardly find any kind of Guman Thong that possessed this power to destroy. But instead sometimes Guman Thong can help us to stay away from danger and people who want to destroy us.

6. He could add you charm.

7. He can bring you good luck.

8. He can increase advantage in your business by inviting customers to your stores.

Guman Thong can help in bringing customers into your shop. He will grab their hands and lead them there (Customers do not feel a thing but he would feel like walking into the shop.) He will also inspire the customers’ minds or whisper to their ears (They actually hear nothing but he would feel like doing some shopping). However, whether your shop would run well or not depends on other conditions such as:

1. the fortune of the shop’s owner and the right time when he bring Guman Thong to live with him
2. the quality of the goods
3. the appropriate price
4. the shopkeeper’s good manner
5. the position of the shop

Please remember that Guman Thong is another supporter. Guman Thong can watch your house and your property when you are away by using his power and making other people think there was someone, a large dog, or black shadow in your house. But yet some Guman Thong cannot have this kind of magic because most of it depends on the owner’s fate.

Guman Thong can also serve as a guardian protector and supporter in most Thai temples.

Miraculous Experience from People who Worship Guman Thong

Mr. Tuarae Chenyim reveals that his restaurant runs well because of Guman Thong. Indeed he has very good experience with Guman Thong. Everybody in Thailand knows him as a famous comedian and he is also the owner of Tuarae Kitchen- an awesome restaurant in Sanam Bin Nam. His pork spicy curry noodle is a popular delicacy and everyone who have eaten the noodle will never forget the unique taste.

Mr. Taurae says that he opened this restaurant for four months only but he has a lot of money from this business and all day long there are a lot of customers in his restaurant. He believes that it may be due to his celebrity status that contributed 30% and the rest comes from the quality of the food that makes his restaurant famous. He also reveals his top secret besides his self-efforts Guman Thong has helped him to get wealthy.

Mr. Taurae's Guman Thong is different from any ordinary Guman Thong because his Guman Thong's spirit inhibits in a baby doll that he found somewhere in his restaurant. At first he heard a voice calling him father. He turned around and saw a lovely doll and so he decided to keep it with him. In the evening he heard the same voice again saying that: "Father, I will help you run this business." Mr. Tuarae raises his Guman Thong up by telling him that he can eat and touch anything but he must behave and keep the room tidy. Sometimes Mr. Taurae worships his Guman Thong with sweet drinks, candies and toys. Before he opens the restaurant, he will light 3 joss sticks for the Buddha and another 5 joss sticks to worship the spirit of the house and Guman Thong. For him, he firmly believes in miracles and mystical power. He has faith in Guman Thong and the Circle of Life in Buddhism. Mr Taurae says the most important thing is that we must not live a careless life. People need faith but at the same time they have to be virtue and keep developing their skills. He believes that the reason why he is quite successful in this restaurant business is because he is good in trade and the sacred power brings him good luck.

Miss Luck known as the Guman Thong Worshipper Miss Luck is another person who loves to worship Guman Tong and Ruk-Yom. She has worshipped many Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom from various schools such as the famous Guman Thong from Master Kong's school. When she started to worship them, she always dreamt about children. Yet, the strangest thing is that many people have seen a young boy with topknot hair in her house although she says that there is nobody there. Another miraculous thing is that she needs no one to watch her store, because she believes that Guman Thong can help her take care of the store very well, and it is very strange that her store has never been robbed.

Miss Luck also tells us that nowadays there are a lot of beautiful gold necklaces that her friends have given to her most powerful Guman Thong from Luang Phor Tae's temple. Her friends prayed for her Guman Thong and they had their wishes come true. So they brought him these gold necklaces. She says that Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom from Master Kong always appear to her family. She would always bring Ruk-Yom with her all the time because she believes that they would add her charm and bring her good luck.

The Wisdom Hidden in Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom

Guman Thong and Ruk-Yom are made in the shape of young boys. The masters in the past did not create them in adult figure because they believed that young children possessed the power of charm in them, and children's mind is clean and easily to be taught unlike the solid mind of the adult. The great masters have created Guman Thong in various positions. Some of them can stand on their own or some sucking an umbilical cord. For Guman Thong in the statue of a young boy who can stand on his two legs would be about 2-3 years old. The masters in the past believed that the children naturally have the power of charm. Everybody loved them, kept nourishing them, and would forgive them if they misbehaved.

For Guman Thong who appears as a foetus sucking the umbilical cord, the great masters created Guman Thong in this position which symbolise typical care and attention. A mother would advocate her love for the child more than usual in this state so that she can die for her child. This symbol represents the extreme power of charm.
